Chapter 2

A group of bodyguards follow us at all times. People look at us from top to bottom and it is no wonder we have more security than the president of Germany.

Wendy jumps in excitement as she enters the evening dress store. I'm not in the mood for any of this. Sabrina is a control freak. I have a room full of ball gowns, shoes of all kinds, handbags of all sizes and colours. And not to mention the jewelry.

"Wendy, I don't need anything." I mutter wearily as I watch her bring a couple of dresses for me. We spend the entire afternoon looking for unnecessary things.

My sister-in-law takes me by my hand as we prepare to enter the property. Six tortuous years caged me in this place, six years under the mandate and orders of Sabrina Schulz. People call me lucky to have the love of the most powerful mobster on the continent. However, I would not call it love. Dad reproaches me because according to him I haven't given Sabrina a chance. He's a good man who loves and adores me, but no. I can't love someone who has broken and tortured me at all the time.

I look at Wendy impatiently as I open the door and find everything quiet.

"Surprise!" I jumped back when I heard excited screams of people. Sabrina's social circle. Mobsters, murderers and whores are there to celebrate my twenty-sixth birthday. My father comes smiling with his mistress and I want to avoid them.

Sabrina hugs me and places countless kisses on my mouth in front of everyone. He hands me a box and I try to make a face of excitement and surprise when I see a diamond necklace in it.

"Is this beautiful, love?" Sabrina kisses me passionately.

There is a gathering of the Mafia leaders and their wives here to celebrate my birthday with lies and falsehoods.

Two of the German's trusted bodyguards don't let me go for a minute. All the people want to congratulate me, and I just want this to be over.

Sabrina holds my hand tight and I know he means this. I have to behave or his submission session consisting of punches will make me obey.

"As beautiful as ever, ma'am." Dimitri, Sabrina's best friend, greets me. The German drags me back to him.

"Don't smile at him again! I don't want you near them! You are mine, you understood?"

He growls in my ear, making me feel shaky from inside. I try to hold my ground so I don't break into tears in front of a crowd. I walk to the backyard, the dress, the necklace everything is suffocating me.

I want to escape from this whole charade, from this whole pack of idiots who only treat me well because I'm Sabrina Schulz's wife.

I bring my hands to my head, everything turns me around, the guards who watch the south wing look at me with determination. They know I've tried to escape before and they won't let me leave from here.

I can't stand it anymore. I can't stand the German touching me. It's nauseating to feel how he sinks into me, how he kisses me as if I were the most wonderful thing in the world.

I have the right to love, to choose who to give my life to. However, my father took away my right, he took away the joy and happiness that I deserved. I don't have a princess tale, here there is no knight in shining armor to save me.

"Everything okay, ma'am?" Jason, the head guard asks me and I just nod.

I enter the room again, they are all a pack of wolves. Sabrina is drunk as hell and all I want is to rest, wake up the next day and realize this was all just a nightmare.

I listen to the sound of music, people sing happy birthday to me and there's nothing happy about this. Sabrina puts his hands on my butt, people take pictures of us and I try to really smile and try to stay strong.

My husband takes me by the hand and leads me to the dance floor. A romantic song plays and I move to the rhythm of the music.

"You are everything to me, lieben."

"Love"

"And you for me, Sabrina." I respond quickly.

Sabrina kisses me wildly, I hear the applause and tears slipping down my cheeks. I feel caged, abandoned and hurt.

"Toast for my wife,” a group of waiters enter, handing out glasses of wine to everyone. "She is my life, the queen of this house, she is everything to me, I ask a toast for Mrs. Schulz." Sabrina kisses me again and whispers, "Let's get out of here." I tense because I know what that means.

I walk past Sabrina in front of all the guests, my legs are heavy, I don't want to be alone with him.He closes the kitchen door, pushes my body onto the concrete island. He pulls my dress up to my hips quickly. I hear the fumbling of his pants, it's inevitable, I'm too coward to stop him. My body moves forward as his member invades my privacy.

The growls reach my ears, I cling to the cold ceramics of the island, Sabrina grabs my hair pulling me to him. I stop breathing when he squeezes my hips and the penetration becomes much deeper. All I want  him to die.

"I love you, princess."

I lower my dress to cover my nakedness when he has finally come. Sabrina pulls me to his chest and kisses my forehead. This is him, a man who loves me so much without knowing that he kills me every day.

As soon as we leave the kitchen, a group of mariachis enters the residence singing the song. I have always had a fascination with Mexican culture. When one of the Mariachis puts their hat on me, I am astonished, my eyes are wide open. Sabrina joins his hand with mine. I am too focused on the group playing the rancheras that I don't notice when the body of Wendy, Sabrina's sister falls from the second floor lifeless.

Suddenly, I hear the screams of terror from the guests. Sabrina freezes at the sight of his sister's bloodied body. My father runs towards me, but I'm too scared. Sabrina leaves my hand to run to his sister. I watch as her body is torn to shreds, a knife slashes through her chest. That's when chaos breaks loose.

Mercenaries enter, shooting everywhere. I stifle a scream as Jason lowers my head to get me out of the mansion, watching the inert bodies of people fall to the ground.

The German mobster wields his gold-and-diamond-plated nine-millimeter pistol tightly. His men protect him so he doesn't get hurt. Sabrina looks at me and nods. I'm dragged out.

In this scene, the women scream in terror, my father is injured, and I see someone helping him escape. He doesn’t seem to care whether his woman is alive or dead.

Someone drags the body of Wendy Schulz, my skin chills as a group of hooded men run towards me; I try to get out of there and escape into the forest, but it is impossible.

A stocky six-foot-tall man squats in front of me, a tarantula-shaped tattoo on his neck. He smiles broadly showing off his whitish teeth and that's when I know things have gotten dreadful.

“Sabrina Schulz.” He blurts out my name with such arrogance and I know he won't hesitate to pull the trigger and end my life.

I remain silent. A redheaded woman appears in the middle of a group of men. She sees me trembling on the floor with my dress in tatters and laughs.

“Die mafia-Schlampe.”

"The Mob Bitch."

“That's me.” I answer bravely.

The woman snorts. "I hope you have that same smile when he's ripping you apart." everyone behind her scoffs.

I get up from the floor, straighten my dress and face her. “And I hope you're still arrogant when Sabrina slits you open alive.”

The woman erases her smile.

I hear applause from someone, everyone looks at each other and I smile when I see Sabrina leaving the mansion with a group of men at his side.

The woman tenses up and tries to flee. However, a bullet pierces her left shoulder causing her to fall. From one moment to another all the men who held me fell lifeless to the floor.

I run to Sabrina and hug him. I need him to get me out of here and to a safe place. The German holds me tight. I can't stand anything from him, but now all I need is to be safe. The woman's screams reach my ears, but it is inevitable, they will torture her until she spill out everything, who sent her here and why.
