Adrian and Rozi went off on the bus. He had no plans to look for the girl or the Timewinder for now as he did not know where they were. He had to locate the eagle artifact first if he wanted to proceed further.

The location of the artifact was clear—Mount Shangspar.

Time passed by quickly. While on the way to Mount Shangspar, Adrian could see the Evercrest soldiers fighting valiantly far away on their way to Geras. Thousands of civilians were gathered on the street, witnessing the signs of the battle that had lasted for seven days. The Evercrest soldiers had no idea how much longer they would last, nor were they aware of how many of their comrades had died in action. Yet, none of them had any intention of stopping.

The train tracks across the distance had been cleaned up, and the Geras soldiers were defending them as they waited for the train to arrive. They were exhausted and the civilians had starved for three days. They were waiting for their food rations to arrive.
