Jenny thought she had finally won against Serenity at one point. Seeing the new Serenity, she wondered if this was really the Serenity she knew. Was she the same woman she had trampled over before?!

"Better?" Jackson asked with concern. Serenity was his only priority at this moment.

Feeling the soft puffs of breath warming her hand, Serenity felt the pain in her hand fading away.

"Yeah. Much better." Serenity let out a deep breath.

Jackson studied her face. Indeed, she seemed less pale. "I'll have the doctor examine your hands again. Your hands haven't recovered at all."

"Actually, it's gotten much better." Serenity explained, "Maybe the pain earlier was just a psychological reaction. That's why my hands hurt."

"So, it's because of Zeke and Jenny," Jackson stated. "Do your hands hurt because they almost ruined them once?"

Serenity was stunned for a moment and lowered her gaze almost immediately. Yeah. He must have investigated her when he approached her. How could he not know?
