"What happened, Selina? You have to tell me! What happened to Danna?" he begged her.

"Look... we really don't know. Danna’s mother forced her to keep training and assured the coach that they already had a date set to ‘take care of it,’" the girl answered nervously. "But in one of the training sessions... well... the coach forced her to do an axel, one of the most difficult jumps... and Danna fell."

Loan pressed his lips together, covering his mouth with his hands.

"Did she... Did she lose the baby?" he asked desperately.

"We don’t really know. They took her to the hospital because she was bleeding a lot... and Danna never came back. We tried to find her, but her mother never came back to the rink either."

Loan fell silent, sensing what might have happened. He didn’t want to think the worst, but after hearing all that, he didn’t have much hope left. Even so, he had to be sure.
