Marissa sighed in relief. Adrian was a man of his word, and it was clear the lady was just talking nonsense.

"Anyway, something happened while you were away," Marissa said, "Mr. Lionel... He's in the garden right now."

"What?” Claude was stunned.

Lionel was his beacon of hope, and he did not want anything to happen to Lionel.

"What happened?" Claude asked.

"It's my fault," Marissa said, "When I saw Rozi's smooth skin as if she had become eighteen again, I approached Mr. Lionel and—"

But before Marissa could finish speaking, Juleen stepped forward and said, "Hey! Keep your distance from Adrian. He's mine. I'm bad-tempered, and I might hit you!"

"Adrian and I are good friends," Marissa said as she held Adrian's arm. "Please stop with this delusion. Adrian will never fall for you.”

Adrian nodded seriously. Meanwhile, he breathed a relieved sigh. It sounded like whatever happened to Lionel was not serious, however, he was still curious about what happened. "Let's go see Lionel.”
