She opened the door and got out of the car. She crossed her arms and asked, "What's this?"

Stephen said slowly, "You should ask Elvin. What was he thinking when he put this in Britney's doll?" After he'd chased Ariel away the night before, he'd carefully checked the doll and found the bugging device hidden well inside.

Linda had made this doll for Britney herself right after she'd given birth. When Britney was a little older, he'd given the doll to her and told her it was precious, so she should take good care of it.

That was why Britney took the doll wherever she went. The doll would be in her bag even when she went to kindergarten.

Elvin had obviously hidden the bugging device in the doll to spy on Britney. Stephen didn't know how long it had been since Elvin had planted the device, what he'd heard, or what his intentions were for doing this.
