CHAPTER 930

Rye immediately jumped from the balcony and drifted through the air like a kite, traveling more than 250 feet before landing between Dahlia and the dogs.

The street dogs were scared by the sudden, scary arrival of Rye. On top of that, her cold gaze made them tuck their tails between their legs and run away, squealing as though they were the ones that were being harrassed.

“Such cunning actors, even the dogs of this outer world,” Rye voiced her mind, then looked at Dahlia. “Why were you running?”

“The dogs didn’t seem like my hair,” Dahlia said. “They might have thought it’s a wig.”

“No, that’s not what I was asking. Why did you run in the first place? Couldn’t you have scared them?” Rye said.

“I came here after promising to Master Ryan that I wouldn’t get angry no matter what happens,” Dahlia said, smiling with sadness in her eyes.

Rye sucked in a deep breath and then showered a smile before putting her arm around Dahlia’s shoulder.
