Veronica and Akash were talking with Rebecca, and she thanked Akash for bringing her sister back safely.

“I’m not a kid, sis,” Veronica retorted. “I had many guys chasing me while you were still wondering why the moon is following you!”

“You shouldn’t talk like that in front of your husband,” Rebecca twisted her ear.

“Aw!”

Akash laughed. “My eyes feel so satisfied now. My parents and I couldn’t do anything to her even though she’s made things difficult for us. So, it’s good to see her get put in her place.”

Veronica gave him a side eye, as if telling him she’d deal with him after they would get to the room.

Akash’s heart thudded against his ribcage. “I-I was just joking, of course.” He looked around. “By the way, where’s Brother Benjamin?”

“Mm?” Rebecca looked at him. “Benjamin, or Benyamin?”

“Akash, it was Benyamin, and he’s no more,” Veronica said. “Did you forget it already?”
