Veronica brought more than what Uzza asked of her. The items she brought included biscuits and chocolates in addition to coffee.

After tasting the coffee, Uzza spit it to the side. “This tastes like crap.” She gave the cup back. “Go and bring me some sweetened almond milk.”

Veronica forced out a smile before leaving.

Moments later, Selena walked over, not looking that happy because Uzza was treating Veronica like a maid. “You seem to have taken a liking to my youngest daughter?”

“I have to rely on someone to get the work done, so…” Uzza calmly replied. “I’m going to reward her appropriately later, so don’t worry too much that I’m making your daughter do labor.”

“No, no, I’m fine with it. At least this way, she’s going to do some work,” Selena said, regardless of how she felt inside. “By the way, where do you come from? Do you have a family?”

“When I began to explore this world, I met a lady who was almost as old as you are now,” Uzza said, remembering her past. “She lost her husband a
