He couldn’t think. He couldn’t breathe. Flooring the accelerator of his McLaren and weaving recklessly through traffic seemed to be the only thing Kyle Orlenko could manage as calls kept flooding into his phone. His father. His mother. His siblings. But in the end, it was his uncle Caleb’s call that he finally answered.

“Tell me where they’re taking her. I need to know which hospital they’re taking her to!” he shouted, pounding the steering wheel so hard that the horn blared, causing other cars to clear the way to avoid a collision. “Questions later, Caleb! Just tell me where the hell she’s going!”
