"Good morning!" I said in greeting a maid who walked by me as I went down the stairs.

She was so surprised to see me, due to the fact that I get up late and someone always has to give me a wake-up call. She was so surprised to the point where she almost bumped into an expensive vase behind her. I was about to walk into the kitchen to see what the boss did for breakfast, but he stopped when I heard someone knocking on my door. I wasn't expecting anyone, so I wonder what this could be.
