Perry was dead. He lay on the ground in front of Ted's grave, with blood pooling around him.

Xena was overwhelmed with grief. With her parents gone, she had only Curtis to rely on, and she cherished every one of her relatives. Now, seeing Perry dead before her and with what looked like a suicide, the pain was unbearable for her.

Yet, Jaden's expression remained calm, as if he had anticipated this scene. There was even a flicker of schadenfreude in his gaze.
