Adrian nodded. "Don't you need to rest?"

Bucky was utterly confused. Now that he was Adrian's subordinate, he was obliged to protect Adrian at all times. It was basic knowledge to not sleep alone when on the job.

"I'll just take a short nap,” Bucky said.

Adrian impatiently said, "You're insane. We'll sleep at the same time. You shouldn't be standing for such a long time either.”

Tears welled up in Bucky's eyes. Adrian did not treat him as a mere subordinate but as a friend. "Seriously?" he asked.

Adrian said hastily when he saw Bucky's hesitation, "Don't get the wrong idea. There are two beds in my room, so we'll each sleep on our own."

Choking up, Bucky replied, "Okay, sir!"

Just then, Marissa rushed over, looking frantic. "Adrian, Rozi’s missing!"

"You can't be serious?" Adrian was skeptical. Absorbed in the battle earlier, he had not heard a sound from the study.

Marissa stamped her foot. "I've searched Medicis Manor and found no trace of her."

Adrian calmly said, "Rozi i
