Anna Coleman quickly turned around.

“Did you make it bite me?” she asked.

Alex was speechless. “I removed this from the back of your neck. Have you heard of ticks?” Alex began to explain.

Anna shuddered and nodded.

Of course, she knew what ticks were. Back when she went on a mission in some primeval forest, she was bitten several times by ticks. Her fever went up to forty-one degrees, and her brain was badly burned.

“This can be considered one of the species of the tick’s family. It’s like a carrion bug, but not quite the real thing. Instead, it’s a mutated type by the name of the carrion parasite. Humans artificially cultivate it, and its toxicity is a hundred times greater than that of carrion bugs. You got it when you were handcuffing Darven earlier,” Alex explained.

After listening to what Alex said, Anna felt goosebumps all over her body.
