*KABOOMMMM*Artillery, rockets, bombs and even missiles were relentlessly raining down upon the long stretch of Dylaslan fortifications along the border of Scharen. For the last hours, dozens of bunkers, pillboxes and hundred meters of massive maze of trenches were obliterated by the immensive Cardonian firepower.The sounds of exploding shells could be heard dozens of kilometers away. Tremors were reportedly felt by outlying villages and towns.Thousands of defending Dylaslans and Scharen conscripts have perished throughout the night. The complex fortifications wete described later as being enveloped in 'hellfire'. Amidst the conflict up North, a thousand strong soldiers of the Archesian Royal Guards are undertaking a six-month-long training program under the supervision of the Royal Cardonian Army. And today marks the first week wherein the soldiers started their "schooling", they are on one of the largest army camps in Cardonia. And to mark the achievement of Archesian forces, they are conducting a marching drill in front of their very own Princess. A series of explosions from 155mm artillery shells pummeled the long newly built trench lines of the Dylaslan Royal Army. This were then followed by quick advance of a collection of armored vehicles.From a command and control Pandur II APC at the back, the various intelligence aircraft up above both manned and unmanned were giving real time overview of the whole battlefield. The primary targets were the Dylaslan airships, on which a few were already shot down by either the F-16's or by the SU-30's."ENEMY AIRSHIPS SOUTHEAST 20 KILOMETERS OUT! BE ON THE LOOKOUT!" radioed in by the section commander.For the last few days these airships were providing suppressive fire from their "guided rockets". Their magic arrows were inaccurate at long distances but good enough to impede the Cardonian advance. The Cardonian envoys led by the Regent himself exited through the very steampunk train station outside the town. They were then guided by the buffed Naldian troops where the Regent were given full military honors as he enters the fortress the town. The buffed Dwarven soldiers lined up on the side of the street with their rifles held at their chest.Locals were then drawn in with all the hustle and bustle as the soldiers prepared to greet and accept these humans in very mysterious clothes.The Regent is escorted with the country's top diplomats, members of his Prince Battalion and the Royal Guards, some Archesian translators and members of the Archesian knights and the same could be said with the Ginians.The Cardonians were at awe as they observed this Dwarven size, not only because of the locals and basically every structure here at best 3/4's of the human 'normal size'. On the battlefield of Scharen.The Cardonians have once again embarked on a frontal assault towards the entrenched Dylaslan positions.Massive Leopard tanks lead the way and are quickly followed by the different IFV's and APC's and dismounted infantry taking cover from the onslaught of Dylaslan 7mm rounds.*clang* *clink*The sounds of ricocheting bullets from their lever-action rifles and Gatling guns emanated from the tanks.The tanks and IFV's replied using their 120mm and 30mm respectively, quickly eliminating dozens of Dylaslans and kept the heads of hundreds more from the safety of the trench and sandbags. Cardonian mortar fire accurately destroyed the Dylaslan mortars and artillery, leaving them really outgunned."Keep up the pressure! We are capturing the objective today!" the field commander shouted through the radio. News about last night's attack has spread like wildfire. It has now made rounds on morning news broadcast by the state television and private media. The Cardonian government is still not giving any specifics on what happened, the preliminary report only states that at least two dozen Cardonian soldiers were killed with a few Archesian and Ginian troops that were embedded in the front unit. And by afternoon images and videos have surfaced displaying the result of the magic attack. The tents have all burned down, pillboxes we're destroyed, the command center and medical outpost also didn't survive. Eight vehicles, three of which are APC's and the rest are IVECO LMV's have sustained heavy damages, the vehicles outer layer was burnt down.With the news reaching the higher echelon of the Palace, the Azaleans were able to get wind off it.
