42. A DOCILE CREATURE

In Verak’s absence—he hadn’t shown up all night—the women were heading out with Lyra, escorted by a group of males, while the rest went out to hunt for food and trade.

Drakkar didn’t like the idea of leaving his female behind, but they put him in charge of the hunting group, and Lyra convinced him she’d be fine.

As they left the pack, Omar, the experienced wolf, glanced toward the combat zone.

How had Verak done? Had he died?

He was afraid of revealing that the idea had come from him—what if the Alpha blamed him for Verak’s death?

Besides, he had another mission on his agenda.

His gentle eyes suddenly sharpened as he stared at Drakkar’s back.

They ventured deep into the wild jungle, and Omar was about to unleash chaos.
