In the car, Katie rested her head on her hand while listening to Hazel nag at Noah.

"You're going to be a father. How could you stay out drinking the entire night? Noah, I always thought that you were a sensible child. What happened to you?

"Don't you know that the most important thing is Katie's child? We need to continue our bloodline!"

Noah was instantly infuriated. "Alright, you've been nagging the entire way. Have you had enough yet?"

"You …" Hazel had accidentally hit Noah's sore spot. She didn't dare say anything else, lest it trigger him.

She turned to look at Katie. "You as well. You're pregnant. You should be careful. You didn't need to go to those gatherings. Don't overwork yourself either."

Hazel had only heard that Katie had passed out and been sent to the hospital this morning. Hazel had been so worried that her heart had nearly burst out of her chest.

At the hospital, she had immediately asked the doctor about Katie's situation. Luckily, Katie's child was fine.
