Otto was silent for a while.

Yvonne continued, "Mr. Carrington, you're a smart man. You haven't secured your position as your family's heir yet. How could you agree to the marriage?

"You've worked so hard for so many years, and it's all being destroyed by a woman. Are you really okay with it?"

"Ms. Miller." Otto finally said, "I have my difficulties. I'm sorry. I let you down. Let's call off our initial deal."

He couldn't even have any say in his marriage. How could he let Yvonne believe that he could possibly become the Carringtons' heir?

The more highly Yvonne regarded him, the guiltier he felt toward her.

Ever since he had given in and agreed to the marriage, he hadn't known how to face Yvonne.

"Alright." Otto didn't give Yvonne a chance to speak. He chuckled bitterly. "I'll see you around."

He hung up.
