That night, Yvonne opened the door and entered a room. The only light in the room came from a lamp lit on the nightstand next to the bed.

Hearing sounds, Jane looked up to see Yvonne. She immediately squirmed and whimpered through the gag around her mouth, as if she were complaining.

Yvonne went in closer and pulled a chair beside the bed.

"As things stand, what else do you want to do? What could you do? Jane, if you're smart, you'll listen to me. I wasn't going to make things difficult for you, but it's too bad. Your behavior today has let me down."

She added, "Keeping you will just be a problem in the future."

The light shone on half of Yvonne's face. The other half of it was in the dark, yet the smirk and condescending expression on her face were as clear as day.
