The crowd’s faces looked pale.

Daniel said with a grimace, "Mr. Lennon, you're strong... How can we possibly pass when we're fighting you?"

Sean glanced at him and added, "If you can get me to move half a step, you'll all pass my test and can follow me to Janestown."

The crowd looked slightly more relieved.
