Zique ran his hand through his hair as the water continuously drained down his body. He scared her, he knew, but he said nothing but the truth.

He knew she was close to hating him, she said she didn’t, but she probably did...those words he said were a warning, a line that he was telling her not to cross. For years she had been locked away and even now it was the same. The first chance she got towards freedom, he was sure she’d take it.

She wouldn’t hesitate to step out of his life after he’d finally let her in it. He understood their situation perfectly, from the start they should’ve stayed far away from each other and now that they were getting close, he regretted being the one who had taken the step forward.

He was reminded of his father while watching her sleep a while ago. How foolish he had been, he loved Diana in a way that drove him mad. He knew she’d kill him and he let her.

He was a case that deserved pity and Zique already saw himself becoming like him. He shouldn’t have le
