Daisy unleashed a piercing scream from the
other end of the call. “Why? Why would you call the police over such a minor
issue? What a waste of money! Plus, have you forgotten that we once worked
together? I’m confident we’ll continue to see each other often for the same
reasons.”
She tightly clutched her chest and put on a
tearful expression while saying that. Unfortunately, she forgot that Darius
could not see her since they were on the phone.
“What you’re saying now makes no sense,”
Darius coldly stated. “Nothing special has ever resulted from our meetings.
Plus, your appearance back then always annoyed me. You also seem to have
forgotten that we’re on a voice call now, not a video call.”
He briskly hung up and returned his phone
