Derek walked inside his dad’s room, he was still wearing the suit he had worn when Ariana went to his place at noon.

She wondered if Elena had stayed all the while, just to come with him to Ethan’s mansion.

Derek didn’t even glance around the room, considering the fact that it had been so long since he entered it; his real concern was finding out who this new son of Ethan was.

Clinton looked at Derek and sighed; this was really getting out of hand, he thought heading out of the door.

“Hey dad, you do not look like who’s going to die any time soon,” Derek smiled, but it was clear that it wasn’t a genuine kind of smile.

“It’s never written on the forehead, Derek, is this how you greet your father?” Ethan decided to play along, giving the same kind of smile his son had displayed.

“Yeah, this is how I greet a father that has no regard for his son,” Derek stopped in front of Ethan, took a quick glance at Ariana, scoffed and returned his gaze back to Ethan.
