“There’s someone here to see you, Amelia.” The doctor gave way for the woman to pass through, and Amelia gasped when she saw her. “Mum!” She exclaimed, her mouth agape. The doctor nodded, he thought as much; the resemblance was clear, it was the reason he didn’t ask Mrs. Rosenberg questions, he knew that she was a relative or something. “I’ll leave you two, but please make it snappy; she needs some rest,” the doctor announced before closing the door behind him. “What are you doing here, mum? I told you not to come,” “I heard about your silly accident for God’s sake, what type of mother wouldn’t come to see her daughter in the hospital after an accident,” Laura reprimanded, walking straight to her daughter’s bed. “I didn’t tell anyone, how’d you know that?” “A friend was nearby, luckily. So you weren’t going to tell me?” Laura questioned, looking somewhat terrified, her hands placed on her chest. She was putting on a flowery gown that went down to her legs, almost like the ones
Emily dialed Sam’s number, the beeping sound from the phone made her very nervous; after it had rang for about ten seconds, she ended the call out of fear and tension. She had no idea why she was feeling this way towards a man she was older than; like a teenage girl who just got teased by one rich high school boy. ‘What do you want to do, Emily!’ She said to herself in her mind, as she dropped the cellphone on the bed and paced her small bedroom. Her heart was pounding as if it wanted to come out from her chest; Emily hated the fact that she felt this way, just because she wanted to accept the man she had grown feelings for. Was it because he was her boss? Or because he was the son of the man she so much respected? She had no idea. As Emily paced her room back and forth, brooding about the step she just took, the phone rang suddenly; startling her and making her heart thud heavily. She quickly rushed to the bed and stared at who the caller was; as she had thought, it was Sam.
Sam heard her loud and clear, but still he wanted reassurance; he wanted to hear her say it again. “What do you mean?” Sam pretended, leaning closer to the table separating both of them. Emily heaved a sigh, she didn’t want to keep repeating the words as it made her a little embarrassed. “I want us to go on with the feelings we have for each other, Sam, and I accept the request you gave me that day,” Emily made her response more clearer, in order not to repeat herself again. But she didn’t look at Sam’s eyes when she finished talking, she was too shy to do so. Instead she placed her gaze on the small vase beautifying their table. Sam could literally feel the joy in his heart, he couldn’t explain the feeling in words but he could tell that he had never felt such a way in a long time. It was different from when Amelia accepted his offer, this looked a lot like a big deal, but he wouldn’t make it seem so. For the first time since he started talking to Emily, Sam was lost for word
Emily was caught off guard, but she didn’t pull away from the kiss, his lips were soft as velvet and warm, soothing in the chilling atmosphere of the beach. For a second, her eyes stood wide open in surprise then slowly reverted into their normal state. Emily never assumed that Sam would kiss her, after what happened during their last date. After a few seconds of silence and just the sound of their tongues hitting each other, alongside the splashes of the ocean on the shore; Sam broke the kiss and stared right into Emily’s eyes. “I want you to be mine only, Em, I really mean this,” Sam whispered, holding her face in his broad hands. “I’m yours, Sam. Yours alone,” Emily whispered back the words. She just kissed her former boss’s son at night at an empty beach. It actually felt like a dream as she held the gaze of the most handsome man she had ever seen. A man she had just met some weeks back, wasn’t this too fast? Emily asked herself, but there was no reply coming from her brain,
“I just have three months to live, and I’ve been trying to tell you but,” Ethan paused, took a deep breath and continued. “But, you’ve been so engrossed with this inheritance of a thing,” he concluded, staring at the shock on his wife and daughter’s faces. Elena wasn’t very moved but Ariana was perplexed and her heart was starting to pound. “How can you keep that away from us, dad; what the hell?” The concern and worry on Ariana’s face showed that she still loved and wanted her dad so much. “I didn’t keep it from you, at first; I didn’t want any of you to panic so I delayed the news, but when I decided to share it, you just wouldn’t let me, but now you know. I have lung cancer and would probably die in the next three months as estimated by my doctor,” Ethan clarified, focusing his gaze on his daughter alone. “That doesn’t change the fact that I won’t still continue the filing of our divorce, you’ve shown me that you do not love me anymore Ethan. By refusing to do what I told you.
“One of the guards signified to Amelia, suggesting that she whined down her window. Amelia felt a little embarrassed as she did, Sam really employed these guys and they were working in a villa such as this, does this mean Sam owned the place? It was too early to jump to conclusions. When the first guard saw her, he almost laughed but he remained composed and spoke instead, but still he couldn’t wipe off the little smile that had crept to his face the instant he saw Amelia. “Is the boss expecting you?” “Who is the boss?” Amelia raised her brow, this was her chance to confirm some things. The guard looked at her in genuine confusion; had Amelia come all the way to the villa without knowing who owned the property or she still believed it wasn’t Sam’s? “Who do you want to see, ma’am?” The guard asked again, his face now entirely covered with a serious expression. “Now you’re asking the right question. I’m here to see Samuel Jonathan,” Amelia smiled, tapping a finger on the steerin
Sam scoffed, looking at Amelia with a joking smile. The shock on Charity’s face was so obvious, how could that even be? After all these while and things that had happened? “I ain’t here for jokes, Amelia, I’ve got an appointment soon,-“ “Oh! You really think I’d come all the way down here just to joke with you? Aren’t you surprised how I even got to know this place?” Amelia interrupted him, standing from where she sat. The joking smile slowly disappeared from Sam’s face, Amelia wasn’t joking around, he could see it in her eyes; but her words seemed like she had come to tease him. There was no way she could be carrying his child.“Ben gave me this address, I’ve got a lot of questions but, I just want to let you know that I’m carrying your child.” Amelia continued with a little frown on her face. Laura heaved a sigh, Amelia never listens; she had told her that the talking would be handled by her, but Amelia had forgotten all about that. “How’s that even possible, it’s been over a
Sam removed his hands from his face when he heard Emily and Amelia calling each other names? What was going on? “Why’s mum…what’s going on here?” Emily walked slowly down to where Amelia and her mother stood. Her face filled with confusion and worry, the red head was looking so remarkably beautiful; she was putting on a wonderful red cape dress, making her look like the queen of England. “I should be asking you the same question; what are you doing here?” Amelia responded, gazing at Emily in surprise; it shouldn’t be what she was thinking. “Now, I’m getting really confused,” Laura heaved a sigh, rolling her eyes. She sat down on the sofa as she was strained from standing for too long. Emily paused for a second and shifted her gaze to Sam, who looked stunned at all what was going on; she had come to his house for the preparations of the promises he had made to her, who would have thought she would meet her sister here. “Sam is my boyfriend, Amelia.” Emily returned her gaze to Ame
