“Come here,” Lina grabbed me roughly by the arm. “We need to talk.”

She took me to her room. I didn't like this place, so I tried to leave, but I was stopped by my hair, and Lina pulled me back.

“Are you done doing your show yet? People are coming, and you have to attend to them because I'm not going to do it. I'm going to sit down to receive the condolences I'm going to get for my mom's death.”

“Aren't you afraid of biting your tongue and killing yourself with your own poison?” she tried to slap me, but I stopped her. “I'm fed up with all your hypocrisy. We both know very well that my nani's death doesn't hurt you at all, and I could swear that you are even happy about it.”

“Your father not only left me because of you but also because of my mom. She refused to give him food because he supposedly didn't work.”

“Really, your cynicism surprises me more and more. You don't deserve the mother you had, and I don't mean that in a positive way.”
