“You’re… tired?” asked Serenity, who seemed to be only capable of repeating his words.

“That’s right. I’m tired, so our relationship’s over!”

It was too tiring for Jackson. Loving someone takes a toll on you, whether physically or mentally.

If loving Serenity meant he had to suffer constant anxiety and restlessness, he would rather not love at all.

If Lucas was destined to be her lover, he would rather not have the rest of her.
