Wilson noticed the panic and nervousness in Clara's eyes. He said, "That's right, I know you're pregnant. Four weeks pregnant, to be precise. You got pregnant that night!"

He wasn't asking her for confirmation. He was stating it confidently, as if he knew that it was true.

Clara's palms grew sweaty and her back tensed, but she denied it. "I have no idea what you're talking about. I'm not pregnant. You're delusional."

He scoffed at her denial. "Should I drag you back to the hospital to ask the doctor who confirmed your pregnancy?"

"You spied on me?" Her voice turned sharp.

"I didn't do it on purpose. I happened to see you at the hospital earlier, and I was concerned about you, so I wanted to know if your illness is serious," he explained. He discovered her pregnancy completely by accident!

"If I hadn't found out, were you planning to keep it from me forever?" he pressed.

She pressed her dry lips together. "It's none of your business."
