Something smashed on the floor.

It was the cup from the table.

Holly jolted from her sleep!

She looked at her dad in a daze, noticing how his forehead was covered with sweat and how his face was contorted with pain.

Then, she stood up in her crib.

The next thing he knew, she held his arm, mimicking the adults around her, and blew on his arm. The little girl was trying to chase the pain away for her dad.

That gesture was so heartwarming that it felt as if a feather had just brushed through his heart.

He held her gently. Hugging his daughter, he felt warm tears welling up in the corner of his eyes. Nobody knew why he insisted on taking her custody. Aside from wanting to win Gwynn’s heart again, he was also trying to redeem himself!

After all, he lost his unborn daughter, Gwen.

His hands were trembling when he pulled out the phone. He wanted to call Kim, but he was gripped with so much pain that he accidentally called Gwynn instead.

Leaning on the wall, he panted.
