She held her child close, looking very mournful.

Gwynn pondered for a moment and said, "If you don't want to see him, I can go and speak on your behalf."

However, Renata replied, "I can't avoid him forever. Since he already knows the child is with me, he'll likely come often if we don't meet now. It's better to just meet him today."

She called a servant and instructed her to bring Anderson to the parlor.

After the servant left to carry out the task, she changed into a new outfit. She also put Daphne in new clothes. It was the baby’s first time meeting her irresponsible father, after all.

She said to Gwynn, "You can wait for me somewhere else! I know you don't want to see him."

Anderson sat in his car in the courtyard on the ground floor.
