“Corso, your turn!” they heard Raksha howl the very second she managed to pull that wolf off her lycan.

Corso didn't make her repeat it and took advantage of the wolf's disorientation to ram headlong into her side, without even giving her time to get up; but unlike others, she didn't resist. She wasn't angry or mad, she was just absent.

All the brightness was gone from her eyes and they could not perceive a single emotion coming from her, as if her soul was numb.

Aidan touched her head for a second and looked at Rhiannon sadly. Together they had decided that they could no longer release just the children’s wolves, because unfortunately, if it came to a war, and that was the most likely thing to happen, they would need the support of the lycans as well as their wolves to defend themselves.
